Audra’s 2024 Vision Board Mid-Year Update

At the beginning of the year, we hosted a vision board workshop for our alum to create a visual representation of dreams and goals for 2024. Since we are halfway through the year, our team decided to check in on our plans. We’re sharing what’s going well, what’s not (yet) and any changes we’ve made. We would love to hear from you too - share your mid-year update!

What's Going Well

My vision for this year was centered all around the word home. 2023 was probably the fullest and fastest year of my life…and I largely felt the need to become more grounded for both myself and my family. I’ve done so much work to honestly just slow down. I've implemented routines, decluttered (half of) our home, styled my office and our living room, planted a garden, made some fun moves with our finances, started cooking more (what?!?!), prioritized white space by saying a lot of no's. LaShonda Garnes is in my head - "No is a full sentence." : ) This vision carried over into The Thread and we have been working hard on firming up "the foundation" of the business. This is a lot of behind the scenes work that includes finances, processes and more. While I am still working on untethering myself from habits that prioritize getting all the things down, I've been more intentional about prioritizing the things that are most important to me. I'm proud of the progress I've made so far.

What's Not (Yet)

I'm still struggling with breaking the addition to GSD on my phone during any crack of time I can find. Definitely got called out by my five year old at swim lessons last week for "not watching him because I'm on my phone all the time". Ugh. Practicing presence (part of what I consider to align with my word of the year) can be so hard for me when I want to be productive, especially because my lifestyle includes juggling work and kids in the summer, so there are often not clear lines. Yet, it's important to me so that the people I consider to be my home don't get my leftovers.

Changes

There have been no major changes to my vision for the year, which feels really good. I did receive an ADHD diagnosis this spring and learning more about that has been a validating journey!
